Solving issues from various perspectives in the long run
When I was studying environmental issues at the university, I realized that it would not be possible to solve the problem unless it was a multifaceted and long-term effort. For this reason, I have been involved in projects in various industries and services without limiting to specific subjects since joining Skylight. The other day, I met a client from a strategic project that I served 10 years ago, and heard that the industry reorganization was carried out as we had planned after 10 years. This made me realize again how much my works have an impact on clients' company and society.
After getting promoted as a manager, I have been in charge of multiple corporate governance projects simultaneously in a big corporate since 2010. Tohoku earthquake in 2011 raise awareness of sustainability and CSV (Creating Shared Value) which creates economic value with the company's core business while simultaneously addressing societal needs and challenges. The environmental issues have turned into a social issue for the entire society. Now it is also my main focus and I continue to work on the issues outside the work as well.
New challenge on venture support
At RUN.EDGE I am in charge of business promotion and business management as hands-on support. It is always challenging every time either consulting or venture support, but venture support may give us the sense of excitement to create new services that do not exist in the world yet, and tension as we have to care about the remaining assets all the time. Currently, I am mainly striving for fundraising, looking for partners who want to grow together while learning different values and philosophies from each investor.
The situation in venture management has been changed. Rather than waiting for individual entrepreneurs who take risks like ones in Silicon Valley, I believe that it is easy for Japanese to adapt if we can create innovations from companies by changing corporates' mindset. I would like to continue taking on the challenge of providing high value to clients and contributing to society in accordance with the times.
